Some Black & White Shots

Black & White is to my mind a very under-rated medium, demonstrated here by this fine picture of 31403 taken at March on Sunday 21st February 1988 by my friend Michael Bryant. 403 had recently gone through works and was photographed in charge of the 13.22 Ipswich - Birmingham New Street.

Someone gave me this picture ages ago, so if it was you that took it, remind me who you are and I will credit it accordingly !

Anyway it's a nice pic from July 13th 1990 of 31414 tackling Lindal Bank on the 08.43 Manchester Victoria - Barrow train.

The leading coach is in faded NSE livery and this was commonplace at the turn of the decade. The 'Regional Railways' 31s were placed in a sector pool called PCDB at this time.
