NOTES ON THE USE OF THE INDIVIDUAL LOCOMOTIVE CHARTS.

The charts chiefly use headcodes which were current to denote the start and end of a diagram. # means that the diagram was completed, for example 1Y06#1M81. Workings in brackets are assumed, NOT confirmed. Diagrams in brackets are for clarity, e.g. (IM Diagram 46).

Most abbreviations for locations are fairly self explanatory, e.g. Mp Manchester Piccadilly, Cl Cleethorpes, Pb Peterborough, BNS Birmingham New Street etc. Where possible depot codes are used e.g. MR = March, CR = Colchester etc. In some cases TOPS status codes are used.
